The Foundation of a Long-Lasting Epoxy Floor
At Jupiter Epoxy Flooring, we believe the key to a flawless, long-lasting epoxy floor lies in what happens before the first layer is poured. That’s why we take concrete surface preparation seriously. Our industrial-grade grinding and repair process ensures your slab is clean, level, and ready to bond permanently with any coating system.
Whether you're installing epoxy, polyaspartic, or urethane floors, proper surface prep is non-negotiable—it’s what separates professional results from quick, short-lived jobs.
Concrete surface preparation is the process of cleaning, profiling, and repairing your concrete slab to create a proper bonding surface for coatings. This typically involves mechanical diamond grinding using heavy-duty equipment, followed by patching, cleaning, and sometimes moisture testing.
Our goal is to remove everything that can interfere with adhesion—like dirt, oil, old coatings, sealers, or laitance—and create a roughened surface (CSP rating 2–3) that allows the epoxy to fuse securely to the concrete.
Grinding opens the concrete pores, allowing epoxy to mechanically bond at a deep level for maximum durability.
Floors that aren't properly prepped are prone to lifting, bubbling, or peeling within months. Our prep process ensures your floor lasts.
Dirt, grease, old paint, sealers, or adhesives can all prevent a proper bond. We grind down to bare concrete for a clean start.
Grinding flattens uneven surfaces and eliminates high spots, giving your new floor a smooth, professional finish.
During prep, we uncover cracks, spalls, or moisture issues that should be addressed before coating application.
Most epoxy coating warranties require mechanical preparation like diamond grinding—not just acid etching.
We evaluate the existing floor and perform optional moisture testing if needed.
Using professional walk-behind grinders and HEPA vacuums, we profile the surface to the proper CSP rating for your system.
We patch cracks, holes, and damaged areas with professional repair compounds to ensure a smooth, even substrate.
Hand grinders are used to reach edges, corners, and tight spots the big machines can’t access.
After grinding, we vacuum the surface thoroughly to remove dust and debris—leaving a clean, bond-ready surface.
At Jupiter Epoxy Flooring, we stand by the quality of our work. That’s why we offer a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all residential epoxy flooring systems, including jobs where we perform full mechanical surface preparation and grinding.
Our warranty covers:
Delamination or peeling caused by improper surface prep or installation
